NAS TAKES ON "DR. MIND BENDER"

It looks as though Nas has officially taken his protest of The Sly Fox (Fox news network) to a new level with an open protest in front of the Fox Broadcasting station. There is a youtube video below of the event that was released just recently. I say more power to Nas for strategically acting on beliefs and trying to intelligently expose ignorance, further solidifying his position as a front-runner radial for change. TIGER WOODS TO BE FIRST BILLION DOLLAR ATHLETE

According to an article released recently by Forbes, Tiger Woods is being projected to be the first athlete (supposedly) to gross $1 billion by 2010. They state, however , that obtaining a net worth of $1 billion will take a little more time because of taxes and all that. I put "supposedly" above because it's arguable that Michael Schumachre was the first sports billionaire athlete (provided we consider NASCAR a sport). None of these statistics have been confirmed yet, though.

In promotion of his upcoming album (UNTITLED) Nas is releasing Hero trailers of the Hulk and Hancock set to his "Hero" single (videos below). These have apparently just hit the internet. (The Hancock movie was one of the best of this summer so far, by the way. Make sure you make it to the theatre to catch this one.) There is also talk on rapbasement.com of Nas promotional deals with Fila for his new album. You should begin seeing these advertisements later in the month. AJF5, AMERICA, AMERICA

Jordan Brand Nike has you covered if you still haven't gotten right for the summer. Take a look at these. The AJF5 which is supposed to drop next month on June 10th. The pictures hit the internet in a U.S.A color scheme. I'm a dark sneaker colored fan myself, but I can make an exception.
Below is the AF1 High Supreme "Sheed" which was made by Nike to aknowledge Rasheed Wallaces' dedication to the AF1. Apparently that picture on the ankle is supposed to be a silhouette of Rasheed.

FORECAST: FAST & FURIOUS 4/PATRIOTS

The next installment of the Fast and the Furious is traveling back to its roots with Paul Walker and Vin Diesel, and get this... Lil Weezy (you think he can act?) Michelle Rodriguez is supposedly in talks of appearing in the movie as well but nothing is confirmed. This movie is scheduled for 2009.

As for Wayne, he is also said to have a role in a New Orleans set basketball movie with Forrest Whitaker and Bow wow. The movie's called the Patriots and is supposed to drop in November.

FL IN THE XXL

Heres a sneak preview of July's XXL cover which is said to revolve around Florida's impact in the music game right now. It will also have articles on Lil Boosie, Busta Rhymes, FloRida and Lil Wayne. The Justice League seems to be doing big things but, Ross really needs to leave his shirt on, he's out of order.

BEST OF BOTH WORLDS: GAME OVER

Jay-Z finally did it. According to rhymeswithsnitch.com Jay-Z and Beyonce were said to have taken out a marriage license in Scarsdale New York on Tues. April 1st. The license is only good for 60 days, however. Who's next, Flavor Flav? He's got more going for him though. He's said to be working on a $150 million deal with the concert promoter Live Nation. I guess thats how he got Beyonce off the market.

THE BOONDOCKS V.S. BET

Aaron McGruder turned the contentious Boondocks into an empire by pointing out what a lot of people are probably scared to say. But it looks like he may have met a fight with BET. Apparently The Boondocks season was cut two episodes short because thoes two "banned" episodes shot bombs at BET and its CEO and president Debrah Lee and Reggie Hudlin, or "Dr. Leevil" and "Wedgie Hudlin", as named on the show. Their prime objective (in the episode) is to see to the destruction of black people which is enforced by all of its productions that seem to add to black stereotypes. It contains the guest voice appearances of Cee-Lo, Donald Faison and Tavis Smiley. I saw the episode and I'm not mad. It was funny and kinda on point... You judge for yourself:

Woww, I always thought that people were joking when they said they were on certified sneaker games. I guess not. Pittsburgh's Carnegie Mellon University is offering an accredited course named Sneakerology 101. It includes the sneaker culture in whole from 1970's to now, including the impact of movements like hip-hop. The next class is scheduled for Spring 2009.

DC looks like their following in Marvel's footsteps. Their collaborating with New Era to come out with their line of 59fitty fitted's: The DC comics X. THE EDDIE MURPHY BREAK UP

Earlier within the month I wrote a post congratulating one of the funniest comedians out (Eddie Murphy) in his most recent marriage to Tracy Edmonds, only to find out it was fake. I don't know why. He released this statement to TMZ online magazine: "After much consideration and discussion, we have jointly decided that we will forego having a legal ceremony as it is not necessary to define our relationship further.

While the recent symbolic union in Bora Bora was representative of our deep love, friendship and respect that we have for one another on a spiritual level, we have decided to remain friends." I know your a comedian, but...

LEGENDARY TRADE

Although its not physical, hip hop is a professional competition within itself that can compare to sports. With that in mind, why cant it have its own trading card? If you didn't know, it does. The Legends of Rap trading Cards. I personally like these cards. Music is an art form and some art is priceless. Some pioneers (no one hit wonders) can't be replaced and shouldn't be forgotten. SAMSUNG F490 TOUCH

Heres a quick look at the new Samsung F490 touch screen scheduled to drop after after an introduction to Europe. It was launched yesterday with a 3.2 inch touch screen. It comes equipped with a 5 megapixel camera according to the good folks at gizmodo.com.

You cant go wrong with a fresh pairs of Jordans, and the latest pair of Jordans has finally been dropped. The Jordan XX3 was launched with an official press conference in New York. Expect this pair of Jordans to make alot of noise as a result of its release claiming the same number as Jordan's signature number. Take a look at the you tube video above. Heres another update for my all my folk in college or simply ahead of the game, the Lenovo IdeaPad Y710 and Y510 laptops. These notebooks are not as cheap as other notebooks like the Asus EE PC, but they have a little more advanced technology such as facial recognition (Veriface facial recognition).
